British Glass is organising a one-day seminar on funding for decarbonisation and energy efficiency work on Thursday 2 November (north of England, venue TBC) – which will be attended by British Glass members’ and non-members. The UK glass industry is pursuing an active programme on energy efficiency and decarbonisation. But building the business case to secure funds remains a barrier. Capital costs can be very high and paybacks periods are often in excess of two years; traditional loans are usually unattractive for this work. “We’re obviously delighted to be featured in Love Your Home and Garden. It’s very pleasing to be recognised as a leading provider of aluminium windows and doors – but it’s just as satisfying to be supporting good people going through hard times. Friends and colleagues gathered to applaud worthy winners across seven categories – and recognise the creativity and dedication which underpin the whole sector’s contribution to the economy, to society and to customers, staff and stakeholders. “Our entry for this award is a thank you to them for their vision and willingness to do things differently. It’s also a thank you to BEIS for the courage and far-sightedness they have shown in working constructively with industry to fit their approach to the needs and circumstances of UK manufacturing.”
